Using dinar to hire maids from Indonesia - Kelantan Gov :)

THE Kelantan government is planning to use gold dinar and silver dirham in the hiring of Indonesian maids.

State Economic Planning, Finance and Welfare Committee chairman Datuk Husam Musa said the state government had already held a meeting with the relevant authority in Indonesia to discuss the plan.



"In the meeting, we (the state government) suggested to them that we are interested in using the coins when paying the deposit to hire maids from their country.

"The matter is not new as in Indonesia and a few other countries, people are now using the coins," Husam said to a question from Dr Nik Mazian Nik Mohamed (Pas-Gaal) during a debate on the state budget yesterday.

To another question by Hanifa Ahmad (Pas-Pengkalan Pasir) on whether the state government received any objections to the implementation of the coins, Husam said so far, it had not received any objections, including from Bank Negara.
